What to Wear

Whatever makes you feel like dancing in the woods!

So first, a practical note. It's likely to be warm.  October in Houston can easily be in the 80's and 70's, even in the evening.  If an unusual cool front is expected, we'll do our best to let you know.

You'll want shoes.  Dancing barefoot sounds lovely and romantic, but in the land of snakes and spiders, isn't nearly as enticing as you'd think.  Likewise, these shoes, enchanting as they are, are a little delicate:

We'll be on rough grass and unfinished concrete, so small, sensible heels will probably be okay.

Okay, on to the fun stuff!  For real, what should you wear?

A cute sundress will be perfectly acceptable:

or the casual khaki's look:

Flowers are always nice:

As are bow-ties:

If you insist on a jacket, you probably want it to be seersucker or linen:

Maybe you want a twirly skirt for dancing:

Or maybe long flowing dress:

Other people think, for dancing in the woods, a fairy or pirate or some such thing:

That's cool with us.

And not just for femme's, you could pull the dapper renn faire look if you wanted:

Or you could go steam punk or rockabilly like these cute groups:

Or vintage like this sweet couple:

We're way out in the woods, so maybe you want to go country, in your own funky way:

These two look like fun:

These two are doing their own thing, and I love it!

Lura briefly considered this for her wedding dress, but decided she didn't want to wear white.  But you can if you want to!

Lura did not consider this corset dress, but might be happily jealous if you showed up in it:

The guayabera is a classic look for dressing in the heat:

This upcycled dress is also totally perfect:

Now, what if you really want to wear glitter?  Well, we say, hell yes!

Masculine clothes too:

Or makeup:

While we're on the topic of glitter eye-shadow, drag is awesome!

As is any way you want to play with your gender expression!

If you want to wear gym shorts and cut-off sweatshirt tops, go for it!  Although Jess will be the jealous one then!

I hope we've convinced you, we're totally serious about the "whatever makes you feel like dancing in the woods" dress code!  Although we would prefer that you wear *some* clothes.

As a final note, if you come dressed like these women:

We'll love you anyway!
